Leadership Giving
Heart of West Michigan United Way improves lives and builds a stronger community through the generosity of more than 32,000 donors and the work of hundreds of volunteers and community partners. Almost 4,000 donors give at the leadership level, meaning they invest at least $500 or more annually in our community through United Way.

If your place of employment runs a campaign with Heart of West Michigan United Way, you will have the opportunity to become a leadership giver during that campaign. By completing your pledge form and contributing $500 or more annually, you can join the thousands of leadership givers improving lives in our community.
If your employer does not run a campaign, we would be happy to assist you in learning more about giving to our community through United Way. Please contact us for more details and to make a donation.
The Steelcase Foundation Leadership Challenge Grant
This year we have a wonderful opportunity sponsored by the Steelcase Foundation, a challenge grant created to assist us with increasing Heart of Michigan United Way’s leadership giving by matching new and increased leadership gifts up to a cumulative total of $100,000.
It works in two ways providing up to $100,000 in matching funds for the 2009 Campaign:
New Leadership Givers

Each first time donation of $500 or more to the HWMUW will be matched dollar for dollar.

If you donate $500, HWMUW receives $1,000.

If you donate $5,000, HWMUW receives $10,000.
Renewing Leadership Givers

Each time a leadership giver increases their donation to the HWMUW, the amount of the increase will be matched dollar for dollar.*

Increase your donation from $2,000 last year to $3,000 this year. The increase of $1,000 dollars will be matched dollar for dollar. The HWMUW will receive a total donation of $4,000.

Increase your donation from $8,000 last year to $10,000 this year. The increase of $2,000 will be matched dollar for dollar. The HWMUW will receive a total donation of
$12,000
*Matched dollars from the Steelcase Foundation are not counted in company campaign totals.
